IN PICTURES:Filling 60 pits in 3 days, winning hearts along the way!

In August, this year, Maoists managed to dig about 60 holes this big and deep on a 12 km long stretch of the near-absent state highway between Chintalnar and Jagargunda, villages in South Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.

For months thereafter, the state government kept trying its ‘best’ to fill these up so that the only link the locals had with the world would not be severed. However, nothing moved till these men from battalion 74 of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) stepped in.

Am informed that with the help of 1 JCB machine and 2 tractors, the jawans from battalion 74 have done the task in three days flat!

So, what do you think about it?
