  1. I am glad that Mr Gupta has taken over, I interacted with him during the discussions on the new “Make”procedure. He is very familiar with the whole business of def production as an Addl Secy and then Spl Secy. Further, with the Secy Def Prod becoming the new Def Sec continuity will be ensured, I am sure they are on the same grid with the RM if they are continuing in the Ministry.
I hope they can spearhead a change in the MoD mindsets and ensure that the new DPP addresses the best interests of those it is meant for – the Armed Forces and not get sidetracked by other agendas – DPSUs, DRDO, obsession with indigenisation even where no capability exists in the country and other vested interests.

So, what do you think about it?
