TWICE IN TWO MONTHS: Bangladesh Navy vessels drop anchor at Mumbai on a ‘Goodwill visit’

Bangladesh Navy Ships (BNS) Osman and BNS Madhumati are on a Goodwill visit to Mumbai from 12 to 14 July 2014.  BNS Osman and BNS Madhumatai are commanded by Capt SMAK Azad and Cdr SM Sharif-Ul-Islam respectively. The commanding officers called on Flag Officer Commanding in Chief, Western Naval Command, Vice Admiral Anil Chopra during their visit.
During the ships’ stay, the crew also engaged in professional interactions with personnel of Western Naval Command.  The current visit by BN Ships holds special significance as the Indian Navy has been in the forefront in training Bangladesh Naval personnel.
India and Bangladesh enjoy historical bilateral relations, built upon shared culture, geography and people-to-people contact. Visit by the ships would further enhance bilateral relations between the two countries in general and the two Navies in particular.
