Bodies & debris of Chetak 440 recovered at a depth of 60m early today

The Indian Navy Chetak 440 which had gone missing was located at a depth of 60 mts in the sea along with the bodies of remaining two missing crew members on 08 Mar 13. The bodies of Lt Pranav Likithi and GS Sen have been found in the wreckage. Extensive Search and rescue operations undertaken by Indian Naval ships, aircraft, Coast Guard, Port Authorities and Marine Police for the past few days after the accident, resulted in localizing the wreckage at a distance of 08 Miles South of Dolphin Light House.

The wreckage and the bodies of the crew members were recovered in the early hours of 09 Mar 13. A multi purpose off shore chartered vessel Olympic Canyon of M/s Reliance Industries Limited was deployed with its Remote Operating Vehicle for the salvaging operations.
